Chris Boyce has worked in architecture for over twenty years. After studying at the Glasgow School of Art and working for Sir James Stirling + Partners, then studying at the Bartlett, he quickly rose to director level at two of the UK's largest practices and was a board level Design Director at Capita|ESA. He led his team there to an RIBA National award, Regional award and Client awards, as well as two further RIBA shortlistings and four Civic Trust commendations. In 2017 he founded Assorted Skills + Talents* a design centred practice, based in Manchester, London and Stuttgart, which crosses boundaries between architecture design, narrative, property/estate strategy, and digital creative consultancy/BIM/VR. Chris also contributes to professional magazines and books, including a chapter in "Defining contemporary practice" in 2018, and participates regularly in student reviews at Manchester School of Architecture and The Bartlett. He was an RIBA award judge in 2014 (and 2020) and AJ award judge 2018/19.
