Guangzhou Wanbo Mehood Elegant Hotel, Panyu(Flagship)

Located within a landmark super high-rise tower in Panyu Wanbo CBD, Guangzhou, this hotel serves as a contemporary business hotel that combines premium hospitality with the rich cultural heritage of Lingnan. Guided by the design concept of "Tradition Regenerated," the client sought to create a distinctive hotel that would offer guests both an elevated accommodation experience and a meaningful connection to the city's history and identity.

Drawing inspiration from Guangzhou's commercial heritage, the historic Thirteen Factories, traditional Lingnan architecture, and local customs, the design team reinterpreted classic regional elements through contemporary design language. Custom art installations recreate the arcade buildings of the Thirteen Factories, while modern interpretations of Manchu windows, cheongsam-inspired reception detailing, stained glass, and traditional architectural motifs establish a refined visual identity throughout the hotel. Local intangible cultural heritage, including Jiaozhi pottery, Shiwan lion dance ceramics, and symbolic references to dragon boat culture, further enrich the guest experience.

The spatial layout fully utilizes the advantages of the super high-rise building. The 55th-floor sky lobby features dramatic ceiling heights, panoramic city views, and a monumental Wuer Wall-inspired installation that creates a dialogue between historic Guangzhou and the contemporary skyline. Public areas are designed as both hospitality spaces and cultural exhibition environments, integrating reception, relaxation, and social interaction with immersive storytelling.

Natural materials such as solid wood, rattan, antique bronze finishes, and retro ceramic tiles establish a warm and timeless atmosphere, while carefully curated lighting, crystal chandeliers, greenery, and bespoke furnishings reinforce the understated elegance of Lingnan aesthetics. The extensive use of natural daylight through reinterpreted stained-glass windows enhances visual comfort and reduces dependence on artificial lighting in public spaces.

The project adopts a sustainable design approach by maximizing natural light, utilizing durable natural materials, and creating timeless interiors rooted in local culture rather than short-term design trends. Through the integration of architecture, art, craftsmanship, and hospitality, the hotel successfully transforms a business accommodation into a cultural destination that offers guests an authentic, memorable, and immersive experience while celebrating the enduring spirit of Guangzhou and Lingnan culture.
