Private Medical Clinic

Conceived as an intimate retreat rather than a conventional medical environment, this private, high-end aesthetic clinic in the Middle East reimagines the traditional clinical experience. Developed within an existing concrete structure over a three-year design and construction period, the project combines contemporary design with subtle regional influences to create a setting that is both refined and calming.

The guiding idea was to create a clinical environment that feels closer to a spa than a medical facility. Architecture, interiors, and landscape were designed as a continuous experience, where nature, light, and water shape a sense of calm. While meeting all functional and clinical requirements, the project prioritises privacy, discretion, and patient comfort.

The clinic includes treatment suites, changing facilities, and supporting service areas, all organised within a clear and compact layout. Soft curves and carefully integrated detailing define the architectural language, while large panoramic and curved glass openings frame the surrounding landscape. Views of manicured lawns and mature trees, along with shifting daylight and sunset conditions, bring a sense of stillness and connection to the interior spaces.

Water plays a central role in both spatial organisation and atmosphere. An outdoor reflecting pond mirrors the surrounding architecture and landscape, while an internal water feature positioned beneath a skylight draws daylight deep into the building.

A layered material palette combines natural stone and regionally sourced marble with textiles, curtains, and warm wood finishes, supporting local craftsmanship. Custom-designed wooden screens, crafted locally and detailed with brass, are used throughout the clinic to filter light and provide privacy. In treatment areas, they function as movable panels, while along circulation spaces they are integrated into walls, working with glass inlays to create shifting patterns of light and reflection.

Externally, the same wooden elements extend as trellises, supporting climbing plants that gradually soften the building over time. Lighting is carefully layered to balance natural daylight with a controlled, atmospheric interior glow, while moments such as a backlit onyx wall introduce a refined sense of arrival.

The result is a calm, carefully resolved clinical environment where light, material, and landscape work together to redefine expectations of an aesthetic clinic.
