Sirimahannop

PIA Interior Company

Design Brief: Asset World Corporation commissioned the Sirimahannop, a newly created replica of Siam’s greatest three-mast tall ship the Thoon Kramon (1866-1903). The ship is anchored on the banks of the Chaophraya at Asiatique as a destination centerpiece. The brief was to develop the ship into a luxurious dining experience that can host up to 300 people over multiple decks ranging from alfresco to casual to private dining. Design Challenges: The Tall Ship is designed as a complete entertainment venue with modern appointments seamlessly integrated within the ship's historical Interior. Marriott International operates the ship so the challenge was to create a memorable yet functional Interior, which could meet the expectation of the luxury brand. Due to its geometry the layout, planning, and coordination were vital to the successful functioning of the Interior with supporting kitchens and service routing intricately detailed to retain the integrity of the scheme. Design Results: The result is a unique and memorable dining experience with graceful interiors steeped in historical richness which are a fascinating escape to a bygone area. The upper deck is a venue where guests can wine, dine and indulge in panoramic views of the River of Kings. The private dining ‘captain's room and hidden rum bar are some of the hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. The lower deck features a bar and the dining room complete with custom furniture, hanging hammocks from the ceiling, mosaic printed floors, and antique props and artifacts.
