Terminal -2 , Bangalore International Airport Ltd

Client: The terminal was designed by SOM architects and Landscape design conceptualized by Grant Associates.The plant selection and Landscape systems and Automated Irrigation system done in house. The entire bells and veils are made in India about 56 Vendors worked relentlessly to setup the system.

The design and the details are done by world's renowned architects SOM and Grant associates. The design had its own challenges and difficulties with creating of 14 metre tall built up mounds resembling surrounding mountains, landscape of rural Bengaluru inside the terminal. 

The concept was complementing with the “City of gardens Bangalore”, T2 was always aimed to be feather in the cap!

Bangalore airport was always known for its beautiful landscapes and well-manicured and maintained greenery since the beginning. Accepting the responsibility to drive this place to newer elevation was nothing less than a dream in 2018

The second terminal of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru is a new addition to the airport that highlights the rich history and culture of the Indian state of Karnataka 

The terminal will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase covering an area of 255,645 square meters and being able to accommodate up to 25 million passengers annually 

The second phase, which is still in the planning stage, is expected to handle an additional 20 million passengers per annum.

It was clear maturity of thought to exceed from being a terminal in Garden pre Covid era to Terminal in a biodiversity hotspot post Covid as the situation has taught us lot of lesson from me to we!

Change was inevitable on larger canvas of sustainability driven infrastructure, wellbeing of the environment and nature in which we as humans are part.
