Thai Flower Harmony unites a sustainable large-scale workplace.
A culturally grounded refurb weaving Thai Flower Harmony with energy-efficient systems, flexible collaboration zones and low-VOC materials, achieving over 90 % Greenmark targets within an existing large corporate office.
UOB Sathon reimagines a major banking workplace to unify dispersed teams and embed local character. Within an existing shell over 10,000 sq m, the brief centred on hybrid-ready collaboration, clear zoning and wellness, while remaining on brand. A human-centred strategy connects meeting suites, communal hubs and focus settings, balancing efficiency with cultural resonance. Retaining and upgrading the base build cut waste, as technology, acoustics and ergonomics were tuned for daily performance.
Thai Flower Harmony translates Thailand's regional florals into distinct colour moods and material cues: neutral social areas lifted by joyful accents; energised work bands layered with dynamic colour stacking; and a premium banking hall with refined detailing. Locally sourced timber and bamboo add warmth; recycled, low-VOC finishes and energy-efficient lighting elevate indoor quality. Durable surfaces and efficient systems support longevity. A collaborative process with brand and user stakeholders, informed by behaviour research, tailored the spatial language to Bangkok.
The outcome is a cohesive, scalable environment that strengthens identity, eases wayfinding and supports hybrid collaboration, achieving over 90 percent of Greenmark targets despite retrofit constraints. Judges praised elegance and intelligent sustainability, while some sought greater warmth and flexibility in certain commons. Overall, a thoughtful, well-orchestrated refurbishment.
The judges said: “A great refurbishment project with refined and comfortable interiors”
