Hans Galutera

Hans J. Galutera, Doctor of Design, is a New York–based interior designer, educator, and global design strategist with more than 25 years of international practice across hospitality, transport, residential, and institutional environments. As Founder of HG Design Works and creator of DesignHUG, his work explores how design operates as infrastructure shaping participation, resilience, and belonging across cultures. A former cruise-ship interiors leader working on some of the world's most complex spatial systems, he brings a systems-level perspective to evaluating design impact. He contributes to United Nations social development dialogue and serves as Vice President of NY11+, Ambassador of Education for SBID London, and Board Member for Interior Design at the New York State Education Department.
