Melissa Byers

With more than 25 years of experience, Melissa brings an unparalleled skillset to her work. She became established in Lighting Design following her career lighting for film and television. Her work has explored different dimensions, 2D and 3D, using developing technologies to deliver emotive stories to a variety of audiences. With a diverse background and client base, she delivers prestigious, complex, large-scale projects. Her pragmatic and collaborative approach balances creative, technical and organisational requirements, working with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, commercial clients and local authorities effectively to facilitate the agile delivery of projects. Her current projects include the design and implementation of Lighting Master Plans and Lighting Strategies for Newcastle, Silvertown, Brent Cross and the West End in London. She recently delivered the Lift 109 visitor experience at Battersea Power Station and the whisky distillery visitor experience, Ad Gefrin, Northumberland. Melissa's project work has been widely published, including features in arc magazine and the ILP Journal, alongside writing her own articles. Her body of work in lighting also includes work on Oscar and Bafta award winning films.
