Experiential Design
This category will reward the best use of lighting, audio visual and visual effects for installations, cultural venues, theatre productions, exhibitions and retail, trade show stands, display spaces, pavilions etc.
Submissions should give details of the project and its context, highlighting and explaining in simple terms the technologies used and the impact they had.
Lighting Projects
This category is looking for projects that have utilised light in a purposeful and meaningful way to transform the space. From decorative lighting to integrated lighting systems, the judges will be looking for excellent design, innovation and evidence of energy-efficiency.
Cultural Venues
We are looking for the best experiences for visitors to concert halls, museums, galleries and the like and the permanent and temporary exhibitions they offer. Submissions should include an outline of the interiors, highlighting any particular design features, materials, lighting and special effects.
Healthcare and Wellbeing
In a Covid-19 aware world, we are seeing continued growth in the healthcare and wellbeing sectors. As hygiene remains more critical than ever before, designers must look beyond pure aesthetics and instead focus on how to effectively create clinically safe spaces that are welcoming as well as being better places in which to work.
Submissions should include details of the interiors, highlighting any particular design features, materials and lighting.

We have brought together categories from previous years under the hospitality umbrella. There may be crossovers within hospitality projects, but submissions may be made into three subcategories. New projects as well as projects that are responding directly to covid will be considered.

This includes hotels (of any size), bed and breakfasts, hostels, aparthotels, casino hotels, gastro pub accommodation, motels, holiday rental homes, guest houses etc.
Leisure and Entertainment
This umbrella category covers permanent and temporary environments and one-off events.

Residential Design
We are looking here for residential interiors that respond to their particular context and surroundings. They need to be appropriate for the person or people living there, but have an
enduring quality that transcends fashion. Submissions may be made into two subcategories.

Residential developments
This category is for multi-unit sites including apartment blocks, condominiums, show homes, student accommodation, developments with multiple homes.
One-off homes, large and small
This category is for bespoke and singular homes for an individual or family including new-builds, conversions, renovations and extensions.
Retail Design
Given the dominant and increased appeal of online shopping in some markets, retailers and brands are increasingly using design to enhance customers’ experience in-store. Here we are looking at retail in its broadest sense, including independent shops, chain stores, department stores, shopping centres, financial services hubs, travel agencies, salons, food halls, pop-ups and so on. Submissions may be made into three subcategories.

The Covid-19 pandemic has immensely changed the way in which we work. Covid secure work spaces as well as home-working and co-working offices have grown apace. Submissions may be made into three subcategories. New projects as well as projects that are responding directly to covid will be considered.
