We Are EDN
WeWantMore
Flexible, art-led dining space rooted in Amsterdam's energy. “The project fuse flexibility with a vibrant sense of place, with its playful mix of natural warmth, bold color, and curated art creating a lively local narrative.”, Duyi Han, WIN Awards Judge.
As Hilton launches its new lifestyle dining concept EDN, the flagship at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal had to set the benchmark: an all-day restaurant-bar that evolves fluidly from breakfast to late night while feeling unmistakably local. WeWantMore translated StiR Creative Collective's brand vision into a spatial framework that nurtures connection and simplifies operations. The brief demanded warmth, adaptability and clear service choreography, alongside durable, sustainable choices fit for heavy use.
The interior orchestrates flexibility through intelligent planning and tactile layering. Movable textile dividers, cabinetry that opens or closes to shift emphasis, and a variety of seating typologies enable swift reconfigurations without disrupting flow. Natural woods, recycled textiles and tactile finishes ground the palette, animated by palm greens, bright tiling and lush planting. A neon ceiling installation echoing Amsterdam's triple-X sign, and a large floral artwork spanning cabinets and woven partitions, create identity and rhythm. Veitenheimer Art Consultancy curated pieces across media to deepen the cultural thread.
Lighting and acoustics have been engineered to keep the room lively yet comfortable throughout the day. Indirect, linear illumination softens transitions, while visual zoning prevents dead spots and over-crowding. Back-of-house functions are discreetly integrated; circulation is legible; surfaces prioritise longevity to minimise replacement and waste. The result is a space that invites guests to linger and empowers staff to execute service with ease, maintaining character from morning coffee to evening cocktails.
Judges highlighted the project's coherence and spirit. One called it "young and playful" with smart fabric dividers and artful lighting, while others praised its layered vibrancy, cultural authenticity and mature strategy that blends a homely touch with elegance. Together, these qualities define a confident, contemporary hospitality setting rooted in Amsterdam.
